Maalaea
A quiet harbor community with calm bay waters, Sugar Beach, and easy access to both sides of the island.
Harbor Charm, Island Access
Maalaea sits at the narrow waist of Maui, where the West Maui Mountains meet the slopes of Haleakalā. The small harbor here is the launching point for snorkel trips to Molokini Crater, whale watching tours in season, and sunset sails along the coast. Sugar Beach, Maui's longest stretch of sand, begins right at your doorstep and runs all the way to North Kihei. The neighborhood is home to the Maui Ocean Center, one of Hawaii's top aquariums, and sits just a 15-minute drive from both Wailea and Lahaina. It's a quieter alternative to the busier beach towns, with oceanfront pools, BBQ areas, and that laid-back Maui feeling that keeps guests coming back year after year.
